Attend our First Step to Entrepreneurship Q & A workshop
If you’re a an aspiring entrepreneur or first time New Jersey business owner, the First Step to Entrepreneurship Q & A is a must. Learn about legal structures, licensing and permits, tax requirements, financing and more. We offer this class twice per month and require that you attend prior to meeting with a counselor.
Complete the online Request For Counseling
Complete an electronic Request for Consulting (eRFC). This form will start your relationship with the Rutgers Newark SBDC for free, confidential, one-on-one consulting where you will find the most up-to-date resources for your business information needs. Once the form is submitted, you will be contacted by the Rutgers Newark SBDC within 48 business hours for an initial needs assessment and to set up a consulting session.
Meet with a Business Counselor
At your first appointment, the consultant will talk to you about your business idea and determine the best course of action. Bring a list of questions or topics you’d like to discuss. These consulting sessions can now be delivered face-to-face, over the phone, via email or through Skype.
Getting Started
Once you’ve met with your business consultant and are confident in moving forward with your business concept, you’ll need additional resources to get off the ground. Rutgers Newark SBDC has a number of training, programs and partners that will keep you on the right track.
